Feeding therapy for infants and toddlers with complex needs
In-home support for families throughout Portland/SW Washington
As a member of The Lactation Network, I am in-network with many major insurance plans for services that fall within the scope of lactation care. This includes feeding therapy sessions with a lactating parent involved, including if the parent is exclusively pumping or weaning. Please see the FAQs below for the full list of partnered insurance plans.
What is feeding therapy?
Feeding therapy guides families towards joyful, comfortable, and safe feeding experiences for you and your baby. I can help with:
Complex breastfeeding dyads
Aversion to breast, bottles, and foods
Transitioning from tube feeding to oral feeding
Transitioning home from the NICU
Starting solids using a responsive & baby-led approach
Medical issues & anatomical differences impacting feeding
Sensory needs & neurodivergence impacting feeding
I provide feeding evaluations and in-home feeding therapy for little ones ages 0 to 5. Sessions can take place in your home (within 30 miles of Camas, WA) or via telehealth for families located anywhere in WA and OR.
My Approach
Your child is so much more than just their diagnosis or points on a growth curve, so my holistic approach to feeding therapy takes into consideration emotional regulation, attachment and relationships, family culture and values, sensory needs, motor development, and medical history.
In feeding therapy sessions, I draw on principles of baby led weaning, responsive feeding, gentle parenting, and motor learning. I use evidence-based strategies balanced with motivational interviewing, with the goal of working with you to find the best strategies to help your unique child.
Currently welcoming new clients for home visits throughout the Portland/Vancouver area!

Our sessions will be…
-
Individualized
Your ideas, values, and goals for your child will guide every session. There is no “right way” to raise your little ones, and all my recommendations will be tailored to meet your family where you are.
-
Integrative
Your child’s wellness is about so much more than where they plot on a growth chart or a checklist of milestones. We will consider their attachment, regulation, play, sensory needs, and more.
-
Collaborative
Our work together is a collaboration between you, me, and your baby, and I will never push, pressure, or guilt you into doing something. I trust you to be the expert on your baby & body.
FAQs

I am a provider with The Lactation Network, which allows me to accept several insurance plans for lactation-related visits (such as feeding therapy that includes lactation support and prenatal lactation consults). If you have Anthem PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, VA OptumEast, Premera, Regence, UnitedHealthcare PPO and HMO, UMR, Oxford, Meritain Health, First Health, Aetna of Oregon, Federal Employee Health Benefit Programs (FEHB), and Oregon Office of Personnel Management Plans (OPM), or a plan that includes MultiPlan or the PNOA logo on your insurance card, please use this link to check for insurance coverage through The Lactation Network. Visits are covered in full, at no cost to you.
For all non-lactation services or if your plan is not listed above, I am an out-of-network provider. I am happy to provide a superbill following each visit for you to submit to your insurance to request reimbursement for out-of-network coverage. Call your insurance to determine your individual coverage and reimbursement procedures. I recommend asking:
Does my plan reimburse for out-of-network habilitative services like speech-language pathology?
What percent or dollar amount will I be reimbursed for each visit with my plan?
What is the process to submit a request for reimbursement with my insurance company? (Usually there is a form to submit alongside the superbill.)
Do I need pre-authorization for SLP services on my plan?

Your child’s initial feeding evaluation, completed during a 90-minute home visit, is billed at $225.
After the initial evaluation, therapy visits are billed at $175 for a 60-minute home visit.
As an out-of-network provider, I’m happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Newborn to about five years old. I also offer prenatal lactation care to support you and your little one before they arrive earthside!

I love this question!
Most people don't know that speech-language pathologists help with more than just pronouncing words. SLPs are licensed to assess, diagnose, and treat disorders of speech, language, and feeding/swallowing across the lifespan. Yes really - from birth to death!
SLPs are experts in the anatomy and physiology of all structures related to communication and eating, including the mouth, nose, throat, lungs, diaphragm, and the brain and nervous system. We offer habilitative services (developing a skill for the first time) and rehabilitative (regaining a skill after illness or injury).
Children struggling with early feeding skills may be referred to an SLP, occupational therapist (OT), or a lactation specialist such as a CLC or IBCLC, depending on the specific concerns. -
Yes. I have experience with identifying suspected oral ties, as well as providing strategies to improve feeding skills regardless of whether your family pursues a surgical intervention (frenotomy).
